Job Description :

ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIP:

• Responsible and accountable to the Program Coordinator and the Academic Manager.
• Responsible for effective teaching to achieve the Vision, Mission and Objectives of KPJC.
• Demonstrate knowledge of principles, methods and techniques of performing high standards of nursing and health care practice with good work ethics and professionalism.
• Responsible for establishing close working relationships with staff members of the unit and other department staff so as to create a conducive working environment and for effective teaching and learning.
• Responsible for teaching, guiding and supervising KPJC students, new Lecturer, new Nurse Instructor, and new personnel according to a predetermined set of objectives.

1.Administrative

• To implement and adhere to KPJC vision, mission, policies and decisions in an effective and efficient manner.
• To plan, organize and coordinate the learning experiences of students to ensure their learning objectives are met and a safe conducive learning environment.
• To liaise with relevant personnel such as Nurse Educators, Nurse Instructors or other Head of Departments in students’ clinical learning activities and other relevant student matters (for nursing study only).
• To participate and provide support in training and relevant activities with KPJ Healthcare group of hospitals and its companies.
• To attend and participate in any KPJC meetings.
• To assist in organizing KPJU / KPJC Graduation Ceremony.
• To act as an advisor to the Student Body Biro that is assigned.
• To assist in planning and coordination of extra co-curricular activities for students.
• To participate in the Malaysian Ministry of Health and Nursing Board training division with regards to programme curriculum and assessment (applicable to nursing lecturer).
• To liaise and update parents and sponsors on academic progress reports and other relevant matters, if needed.
• To assist in the recruitment of students for any programmes conducted by KPJC.
• To participate in the Orientation Programme of new students, if needed.
• To assist and coordinate in the purchasing of necessary teaching aids, equipment and learning items.
• To ensure all teaching aids, equipment and learning items are maintained in good and safe condition.
• To assist in coordinating and ensuring transport is available for any students learning activities, clinical experiences, intern or visits.

2.Academic

• To be assigned as in charge of a group of students or assigned to be in charge of a semester.
• To carry out all the teaching hours that have been assigned.
• To teach all relevant subjects in the programmes that have been assigned in accordance with curriculum and teachers guide using various teaching methodology.
• To plan and coordinate the students learning in Master Planner. 
• To ensure all learning activities are being carried out according to the Master Planner.
• To plan and coordinate study visits for students applicable to their learning needs.
• To plan, coordinate and liaise with Coordinator/Principal/Academic Manager on students practical
  experiences.
• To supervise and carry out clinical assessment of students at clinical areas.
• To provide support in student learning through mentor/mentee system, counseling and tutorials.
• To maintain students’ documents pertaining to students’ academic and clinical performance.
• To provide feedback to students on academic and clinical performance.
• To organize and ensure student clinical proficiency log books are signed and updated according to Nursing Board requirements for registration examination.

3. Examination

• To carry out continuous, final assessment and OSCE (for nursing study only) examinations in every semester according to curriculum content.
• To formulate and submit assessment items for every final examination.
• To maintain confidentiality in examination preparation and procedure in theory and OSCE (for nursing study only).
• To act as an examination invigilator, implement and maintain the examination policy throughout.
• To participate as an examiner in the Malaysian Nursing Board Exam (for nursing study only) when assigned.
• To submit all necessary documents of students for their registration as qualifying nurses (for nursing study only). 

4.Extra curricular Activities

• Organize and coordinate extracurricular activities that can enhance the Learning of subject in the college e.g. National Day etc.
• Advisor to Co-operative Biro of Student Body such as assists in student body as assistant.

5. Quality Assurance

• Participate actively in college and all KPJC JB quality assurance activities.
• promote and maintain a culture towards providing excellence in quality through education and training. Responsible for the implementation of the total quality of college education.

6.Condition

• This job description of Lecturer is subject to periodic review and may be changed at any time in consultation with the employee.
• The duties and responsibilities are not exhaustive. Other duties may be involved from time to time.
