Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities

Program Management
- Assist in managing a comprehensive Fitness and Wellness program to include: Group Fitness, Personal Training, F45, fitness floor programming, and Massage Therapy.
- Ensure high standards of facility and program maintenance and cleanliness.
- Assist in planning and implementing multiple events and fitness programs throughout the year.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and scheduling all Personal Trainers, Fitness Instructors, and Fitness Attendants.
- Provide managerial and leadership experiences in program operations and create professional development opportunities for Fitness Instructors, Personal Trainers, and Fitness Attendants.
- Research and Develop multiple fitness programs and challenges throughout the year to encourage healthy and active lifestyles.
- Direct oversight of the Personal Trainers, Group Fitness Instructors, or Fitness Attendants based on previous experience.
Administrative
- Assess effectiveness and satisfaction of programs, services and facilities.
- Prepare regular written communication such as monthly and annual reports, financial and participation reports, and equipment inventory reports as needed.
- Monitor SubItUp and Rec Automation for scheduling changes and make appropriate changes.
- Create, encourage, and support professional development opportunities for staff, including professional association involvement, training programs, and individual mentoring.
- Build strong partnerships on campus and with vendors, area businesses, and organizations.
- Complete comprehensive analytical and statistical reports regarding fitness and wellness patron participation.
Other Responsibilities
- Evening/Weekend work responsibility as required.
- Ability to maintain set office hours with some flexible hours for programming.
- Assist in maintaining updated facility and program staff manuals
- Daily inspection of facility programming areas.
- Attend all staff meetings as scheduled.
- Other duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in related field: Exercise Science, Health Promotion, etc.
- Knowledge of standard practices in recreational sports.
- Pursuing appropriate nationally recognized personal training or group fitness certification.
Required Skills:
Technical Competencies
- Some knowledge of HR theories and best practices in recruitment and staff development.
- Basic accounting knowledge; capability of understanding budgets.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Human Relations:
Internal contacts include staff at all levels. External contacts include external customers and vendors. Contact involves troubleshooting, informing, exchanging information, negotiating, making recommendations, and giving information or instructions.
