Manager, Business Analysis

Title: Manager, Business Analysis - Deal Economics & Analytics (Global Deals)

Location: London, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

Working Pattern: 3 days in-office (Tuesday-Thursday) and 2 days remote.

Our Mission:

We’re on a mission to be a force for good in lending. Throughout our almost 30-year history, we’ve consistently been recognised as a great place to work; in 2026, Capital One was officially ranked 9th in the UK’s Best Workplaces™ list. Hear from our team about what it’s like working at Capital One UK.

About the Role:

As a Manager, Business Analysis at Capital One you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to major opportunities and challenges facing the company. You will team with world-class professionals to develop and test strategies that ultimately impact the bottom line. And you will do it all in a collaborative environment that values your insight, encourages you to take on new responsibility, promotes continuous learning, and rewards innovation.

The Manager, Business Analysis, Deal Economics & Analytics role is within Capital One's Global Payment Networks' (GPN) Global Acceptance organization. GPN oversees all operations across the Discover®, PULSE®, and Diners Club International® Networks. The Global Acceptance team defines and shapes GPN's strategic agenda by expanding acceptance across our priority markets, owning and expanding strategic relationships with global acquirers, merchants, and payment service providers, and driving local issuance partnerships around the globe. The team brings together sales, marketing, strategy, and operations associates all working toward that shared acceptance goal.

In this role, you will sit within the Global Deals team, which orchestrates and drives deal analytics, pricing, and negotiations across our strategic network relationships. You'll operate in tight, deal-specific pods that reconstitute around live negotiations and work with key internal and external stakeholders to drive problem solving and alignment. Success in this role depends on being strategically minded, quantitatively rigorous, and able to concisely communicate holistic, cross-functional information in a coherent package. You'll be trusted to move fast and land outcomes, not just produce analysis. Ideal candidates will have payments experience either in industry, top-tier consulting firms (in pricing or private equity practice), or investment banks.

What you’ll do:

  • Strategy: Help build strategies (i) supporting the GPN leadership team with their top priorities and (ii) influencing the development of new & existing platforms, as well as breakthrough technology and concepts
  • Analysis: Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement and solve for them using analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations
  • Partnership: Work closely with colleagues across Capital One including Pricing, Corporate Development, Sales, and others to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitability
  • Strategic & analytic orientation: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation, given that a large part of the business is based on rigorous analytic marketing & credit risk management
  • Strong business judgment, leadership and integrity: He/she should be a tenacious decision maker, able to bring a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible approach to business
  • Strong communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Clear results orientation: display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals. He/she should be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment
  • Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment. Previous consulting experience is a plus

The skills and experience you need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)
  • At least 1 year of experience in analysis

Nice to Have:

  • Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
  • 1+ years of experience in consulting
  • 1+ years of experience in market research
  • 1+ years of experience in statistical model building
  • 2+ years of experience in business analysis

Where and How You'll Work:

  • We embrace a hybrid approach to work. You'll spend three days a week in the office (Tuesday-Thursday), with Monday and Friday being dedicated work-from-home days.
  • Our offices are designed to inspire and support you. At our Nottingham head office, you'll find an on-site gym, restaurant and dedicated Learning Loft.
  • Cross-Site Travel: Approximately twice monthly to foster collaboration across both office locations.

What’s in it for you:

We invest in the growth of our people alongside our business. You will have extensive opportunities to learn and develop your career, including access to up to £5,000 in funding for external qualifications.

In addition to career development, our comprehensive benefits package is designed to grow with you, ensuring your wellbeing is prioritised at every stage of your career:

  • Wealth & Future: Competitive pension and performance-based bonus schemes
  • Holidays: Start with 25 days of annual leave, increasing with tenure. Need more? You have the option to buy 5 additional days.
  • Health: Access premium care through our private medical insurance.
  • Family Support: We champion your milestones with enhanced parental leave.

A full list of our benefits is available here.

What you should know about how we recruit:

  • We pride ourselves on hiring the best people, not the same people. Building diverse and inclusive teams is the right thing to do and the smart thing to do. We want to work with top talent: whoever you are, whatever you look like, wherever you come from. We know it’s about what you do, not just what you say. That’s why we make our recruitment process fair and accessible.
  • We value diversity, inclusion and belonging at our core. We empower our associates to do great work by creating an inclusive culture—one that values diverse perspectives, fosters collaboration and encourages innovative ideas—and a place where associates of all backgrounds can thrive by bringing their most authentic selves to work. We call this our Culture of Belonging, and it rests at the heart of our business.
  • Our associate-led Business Resource Groups were created to help support our diverse population and include over 10 groups across our offices. Because each Business Resource Group is as unique as the population it serves, they offer a range of activities, networking opportunities, special events and learning programmes to associates.
