OUR VISION: Our vision at ES&S is simple and unwavering — we provide products and services of exceptional quality and value to maintain voter confidence and enhance the voting experience.
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This is a full-time, 11-week internship from early June to mid-August 2027. Summer interns typically work from 8:00 am–5:00 pm, Monday through Friday — approximately 40 hours per week. While contributing to department initiatives, interns will also engage in educational experiences that help prepare them for workplace life.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: Applicants must be junior or senior undergraduate students pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
COMPENSATION: $22 per hour.
LOCATION: On-site at our office in Omaha, Nebraska. This is not a remote opportunity.
PROFESSIONAL EXPECTATION: ES&S views the Internship Program as a professional learning opportunity. Interns will be held to the same professional standards as all full-time employees. Interns are involved in division, team, and project meetings, take on tasks that impact department goals, and learn new skills.
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The IT Service Center (ITSC) intern will work with team members as the first point of contact for employees requiring technical support via phone, walk-up, email, and the self-service portal. They will be responsible for configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices, printers, and associated peripherals, and for resolving user technology issues. The ITSC intern will work closely with other members of the IT department to support all end users, both on-site and remote. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving help requests. Problem resolution may involve technical resources, independent research, and guidance from other team members. The ITSC intern will interact with users in person and provide hands-on help at the service desk and desktop level. A successful ITSC intern has a good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other technical products; can understand users’ problems and communicate and resolve issues effectively; and is customer-oriented and patient when working with a wide variety of users.
