Description
Are you an experienced Veterinary Receptionist or Client Service Representative who loves helping both pets and people? We’re looking for a friendly, dependable, and compassionate Client Service Representative (CSR) to join our veterinary team in Oyster Bay, NY.
As a Veterinary Client Service Representative, you’ll be one of the first people our clients connect with and an important part of creating a welcoming, supportive experience from the moment they call or walk through the door.
Our animal hospital serves pets and families throughout Oyster Bay and the surrounding Long Island community. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with people, communicates confidently, stays organized, and can manage multiple priorities in a busy veterinary environment while still providing excellent customer service.
Some of the responsibilities you will own in this role:
- Answering a high volume of phone calls and assisting clients with questions
- Greeting clients and creating a welcoming experience
- Checking patients in and out - Scheduling and confirming appointments
- Responding to emails and client messages
- Taking accurate messages for our medical team
- Creating and updating patient and client profiles
- Processing payments and assisting with account questions
- Communicating with clients regarding medications, records, appointments, and follow-ups
- Maintaining an organized and clean reception and lobby area
- Assisting the veterinary team and other departments as needed
- Providing exceptional customer service to our clients and their pets
Preferred Qualifications
- **Veterinary hospital or veterinary receptionist experience is required**
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
- Comfortable answering phones and communicating with clients in person, by phone, and electronically
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
- Compassionate and comfortable interacting with dogs, cats, and their owners -
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or emotional situations
