Job Description Summary
Under limited supervision, leverages experience, specialized training, and industry knowledge to support the effective management of operational, regulatory, and compliance risk across key Raymond James Bank business units, including Private Client Banking, Deposit Operations, Loan Operations, and Corporate Real Estate. As a member of the RJ Bank Oversight & Control (O&C) Department, which serves as the first line of defense, this role is responsible for executing risk-based control testing and monitoring activities, evaluating control effectiveness, supporting management during internal audits and regulatory examinations, and partnering with business leaders to identify and remediate control deficiencies. The position requires strong analytical, communication, and critical thinking skills, along with the ability to collaborate across departments to strengthen the control environment, promote compliance with regulatory requirements, and drive continuous process improvement.Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute assigned monitoring and control testing reviews in accordance with the annual RJ Bank Oversight & Control Monitoring & Testing Plan.
- Perform risk-based sampling, testing, and validation procedures to assess compliance with internal policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and established controls.
- Analyze transaction-level and control-level data to identify errors, trends, control weaknesses, and emerging risks requiring management attention.
- Document review procedures, testing results, observations, and conclusions in accordance with departmental standards and established methodologies.
- Prepare monitoring and testing reports that clearly communicate results, observations, root causes, risk impacts, and recommended corrective actions.
- Track identified issues through remediation and validate that corrective actions have been effectively implemented and sustained.
- Utilize data analytics tools and internal systems to perform reviews of large and complex data sets and support risk assessments and testing activities.
- Support periodic reporting of monitoring and testing results, key risk indicators, and identified control issues to management and governance committees.
- Support internal audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance reviews by providing documentation, analysis, and subject matter expertise related to monitoring and testing activities.
- Assist with the development and enhancement of monitoring and testing methodologies, procedures, and reporting practices to improve the effectiveness of the Oversight & Control Program.
- Act as a subject matter expert supporting business units across Raymond James Bank in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of operational and regulatory risks.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Knowledge of:
- Concepts, practices and procedures of internal control testing or internal quality assurance processes
- Working knowledge of applicable banking regulations including but not limited to: Regulation B, C, DD, E, O, TRID, RESPA, TILA, CRA, FCRA, ECOA, UDAAP, etc.
- Knowledge of Raymond James Bank products and services, including deposit products, residential mortgage lending, securities-based lending, tailored lending, cash management solutions, and other consumer and commercial banking products and services.
Skills in:
- Identifying, reviewing and implementing controls and quality assurance processes
- Compiling information and preparing oral and written summaries and reports
- Investigating process and procedure breakdowns to determine root cause
- Analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and identifying solutions to complex problems
- Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications including Microsoft Office
Ability to:
