Role Overview

As a Regional Director, Operations, you will play a critical role in supporting our Oak Street Health patients, providers and business by leading operational performance and population health execution across multiple centers within a geographic division. This role owns the delivery of key clinical, operational, patient experience, quality, utilization, and financial outcomes by ensuring that regional priorities are translated into disciplined execution across centers and care teams.

The role directly leads center operational leadership, including Practice Managers and other regional operational resources, and serves as a key cross-functional partner to clinical, service, outreach, and Treehouse teams.

Success in this role requires a leader who can drive results across a matrixed environment, build strong relationships quickly, and bring both strategic and operational rigor to a fast-paced, high-visibility setting. This individual will be accountable for improving the day-to-day performance of centers while also advancing Oak Street Health’s broader population health and value-based care priorities.

  • Share best practices and strengthen coordination across centers and markets

Population Health Ownership and Execution

  • Own execution and ongoing refinement of population health priorities across the division
  • Drive divisional performance across key population health domains, including transitions in care, pharmacy and medication adherence, HEDIS / Stars, accurate risk adjustment, preferred partner relationships, and patient engagement strategy
  • Ensure Oak Street Health’s clinical and business priorities are effectively implemented at the regional and center level
  • Maintain accountability for key quality, utilization, and financial performance measures tied to population health outcomes
  • Translate data and organizational priorities into focused regional action plans that improve quality, cost of care, and patient outcomes

Program Implementation and Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead implementation of centrally driven and regionally driven initiatives that improve operations and population health performance
  • Partner with central functional leaders to support strategy development, program design, workflow refinement, and execution feedback
  • Assess workflow impact across service, outreach, clinical, and operational teams to ensure effective implementation of new initiatives
  • Serve as a regional subject matter expert on operational and population health programs, priorities, and performance opportunities
  • Apply strong project management and change leadership practices to ensure initiatives are launched and sustained effectively

Leader Development and Regional Team Effectiveness

  • Lead, coach, and develop Practice Managers and other regional operational leaders with clear accountability for outcomes
  • Onboard, train, and support new leaders to build capability and consistency across the region
  • Conduct operational reviews focused on performance, quality, patient experience, and other key metrics
  • Foster a collaborative regional culture across operational and clinical teams
  • Support team development and strengthen consistency across centers in how care is delivered and operations are led
