1.1.1 Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Health Data Scrum Lead to drive the design and implementation of a common Health Data Model and Health Data Products to provide ready-to-use, easily consumable, trusted data set to support the AI and analytics use cases required to drive Manulife’s Health business ambition. This role is critical in enabling business units to innovate faster, optimize operations, and deliver localized analytics and AI capabilities. The successful candidate will participate in regional health strategic initiatives such as Provider Management Solutions, Health KPIs and Claim Driver analyses/automation, and other Regional/Local Health Analytics/AI use cases that require a common health data model.
As part of ADO, you will have the opportunity to:
- Lead regional health data initiatives impacting regional and local health businesses
- Collaborate with data scientists, AI teams, and business leaders in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment.
- Drive innovation and shape the future of health data products within the organization, to enable cutting-edge analytics/AI use cases including Generative AI (GenAI), Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI, and advanced solutions leveraging OpenAI GPT models and AliCloud Qwen models.
1.1.2 Key Responsibilities:
1.1.3.1 Scrum Delivery & Coaching- Provide senior Agile leadership and coaching to cross-functional teams delivering the common Health Data Model and Health Data Products.
- Ensure Scrum events, backlog refinement, sprint goals, and delivery commitments are focused, outcome-driven, and aligned to product priorities.
- Coach team members on effective Scrum practices, self-management, accountability, and value-based decision-making.
- Drive the resolution of complex impediments and dependencies across data, AI, architecture, governance, security, and market teams.
- Partner with Product Owners and senior leaders to align priorities, capacity, delivery roadmaps, and sprint outcomes with strategic objectives.
- Strengthen delivery predictability by identifying risks early, facilitating timely decisions, and coordinating cross-team planning and execution.
- Embed architecture, data governance, SDLC, risk, privacy, security, compliance, and quality requirements into Agile delivery.
- Maintain executive-level transparency on delivery confidence, strategic risks, dependencies, decisions, and business outcomes.
- Build alignment across regional and local stakeholders, balancing enterprise standards with market priorities and delivery constraints.
- Use Agile metrics, delivery insights, and stakeholder feedback to improve predictability, quality, team effectiveness, and value realization.
- Lead retrospectives and improvement initiatives that address systemic issues and strengthen ways of working across teams.
- Promote empowered decision-making, shared accountability, cross-market collaboration, and a sustainable culture of continuous learning.
1.1.3 Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in technology, data, digital, or change delivery, including 3+ years as a Scrum Master or Agile delivery lead.
- Strong Scrum and Agile expertise, with proven facilitation, coaching, impediment removal, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience delivering data, analytics, AI, or data governance initiatives in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with enterprise SDLC, architecture, risk, privacy, security, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or similar tools; CSM, PSM, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Insurance, healthcare, or financial services experience is an advantage.
