Travel could be a part of this position, but the frequency may vary based on client, team, and individual circumstances.  Position is based in Toronto. Paid relocation is not available.

In this role, you will support insolvency and restructuring engagements, working closely with Licensed Insolvency Trustees, creditors, debtors, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to administer bankruptcy, proposal, receivership, and restructuring files.  This position offers exposure to distressed businesses, financial restructuring matters, stakeholder negotiations, and complex insolvency proceedings across a variety of industries.

What you’ll do

• • Administer insolvency and restructuring files from initiation through closure

  • Prepare and file statutory documents, regulatory filings, and other required case documentation

  • Coordinate communications with debtors, creditors, legal counsel, financial institutions, and government agencies

  • Review financial information, creditor claims, and supporting documentation

  • Assist with asset realizations, distributions, and trust account administration

  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and other documentation related to insolvency engagements

  • Maintain accurate records and case files while monitoring key deadlines and filing requirements

  • Ensure compliance with the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA) and other applicable regulatory requirements

  • Support investigations into financial affairs, asset recoveries, and creditor claims as required

  • Assist with financial analysis, cash flow reviews, and restructuring assessments

What you’ll need

• • University degree or college diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline

  • 2+ years of experience in insolvency, bankruptcy administration, restructuring, accounting, financial advisory, or a related professional services environment

  • Working knowledge of Canadian insolvency legislation, including the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA), and related regulatory requirements

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, creditors, legal counsel, and other stakeholders

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • Experience with insolvency administration software (e.g., Ascend)

  • Progress toward or completion of an Estate Administrator designation is considered an asset

  • Completion of the Insolvency Counsellor's Course is preferred

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, client-service-oriented environment

The salary range for this role considers a number of factors and is between $70,000/year - $100,000/year with potential eligibility for annual discretionary bonus.
