Job Summary:
Facilities Assistant: Assists with maintaining daily operations of the physical facility. Performing daily, weekly and monthly preventive maintenance tasks on facilities equipment. Responsible for the upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of the building and its systems. This includes HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general facility support to ensure a safe, functional, and efficient environment for staff.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems.
- Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshooting issues in a timely manner.
- Repair or replace defective equipment, fixtures, and components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to facility operations.
- Maintain HVAC systems, including filter changes and basic diagnostics.
- Maintain RO/DI system along with water filtration systems.
- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address any potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
- Ensure the facility is clean and organized.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and repairs.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors when necessary.
- Assist with office moves, furniture setups, and general labor tasks.
- Assist with helping other staff members on large projects or when the department is short staffed
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in facility maintenance or a similar role.
- Technical skills include proficiency in maintaining and repairing HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
- Strong diagnostic, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve issues efficiently
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally with staff and vendors.
- Ability to lift 50lbs and move heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks as needed.
Desired Qualifications:
- Technical certifications or an associate degree in facilities management, HVAC, or a related field is preferred
- RO/DI systems experience
- Electrical experience
