Head of Nursing – Complex Care
Remote – Central England preferred
Salary: Up to £70,000 pro rata
Hours: 3 days per week
 
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Nursing to join a growing healthcare organisation and provide senior clinical leadership across its nursing function.
Working 3 days per week, this is a strategic and operational role for a senior nursing professional who can provide clinical oversight, develop nursing standards, and support the continued growth and quality of complex care services.
The role is predominantly remote, with Central England preferred due to the wider operational footprint.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior clinical leadership across the nursing function
  • Oversee and maintain high standards of clinical care and practice
  • Lead the development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and standards
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to nurses and wider care teams
  • Ensure effective clinical governance, quality assurance, and risk management
  • Support the development and review of care plans, assessments, and clinical documentation
  • Oversee clinical audits, incident reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support recruitment, induction, supervision, and development of nursing teams
  • Work closely with operational leadership to ensure safe and effective care delivery
  • Maintain strong relationships with families, commissioners, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and professional standards
  • Provide strategic input into the ongoing development and growth of the organisation
 
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with an active NMC registration
  • Significant post-registration nursing experience
  • Previous experience in a senior clinical leadership or nursing management position
  • Strong background within complex care, community care, or a similar specialist setting
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, safeguarding, risk, and quality
  • Proven ability to lead, support, and develop nursing teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisational and strategic thinking abilities
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a predominantly remote role
