POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Planning and Physical Resources, the Manager of Fleet and Logistics is responsible for the procurement, management, maintenance, and disposal of all components of the WPS Fleet and related assets/equipment, management of all WPS Fleet & Logistics Unit staff, plus the coordination of all logistical details pertaining to vehicles used for special events by the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
HOURS OF WORK: Monday – Friday, 8am-4pm (Occasional overtime and/or changes to scheduled hours may be required based on operational needs.)

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Planning and Physical Resources, the Manager of Fleet and Logistics is responsible for the procurement, management, maintenance, and disposal of all components of the WPS Fleet and related assets/equipment, management of all WPS Fleet & Logistics Unit staff, plus the coordination of all logistical details pertaining to vehicles used for special events by the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada;
- Possess a combination of related work experience (minimum: 5 years) and post secondary education (degree, diploma, certificate of technical expertise, apprenticeship, etc.) in a related field (could include: automotive technology, quality control, business administration, asset management, or a related/equivalent discipline);
- Must possess demonstrated progressive management or supervisory experience in automotive, fleet, maintenance, or a comparable operational environment. This includes the ability to directly manage and develop maintenance personnel; oversee operational systems and software; coordinate mechanical or technical work; monitor and manage costs and assets; support the procurement of parts, vehicles, and equipment; oversee safety and inspection processes; assess whether work is best completed internally or through external service providers; articulate decisions verbally and in writing; and maintain awareness of applicable industry standards, policies, and regulatory requirements;
- Must possess a working knowledge of vehicle repair operations and the operation and functioning of fleet related assets/equipment;
- Specific training and/or knowledge in relation to the preparation and management of both operating and capital budgets;
- Specific training/knowledge pertaining to police vehicles and equipment and Certified Automotive Service Technician 310S is an asset.
- Specific training/knowledge pertaining to industry-recognized asset management plan (AMP) practices and inventory management protocols is an asset.
- Possess a functional understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
