Overview
POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Director of Enterprise Analytics is responsible for the management and growth of professional analysts and architects and the implementation of strategies to support the analytical needs of DCH. Reporting to the Director of Strategy Execution, this individual provides direction on programming and analyses performed by the team, through modeling workflow, terminology, business rules, and specifications of technology requirements utilized in operational and research data needs. Also, uses knowledge of statistical theory, health services, research, technical skills, and business operations to make recommendations to bring best practices to DCH processes, champions high standards and cutting-edge analytic approaches, and assists with shaping DCH’s capabilities toward future work and team talent.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Leads professional level architects and analysts engaged in various levels of programming and analytical efforts including data ingestion, curation, extraction, analysis, and reporting.
- Provides direction on designing, planning, and reporting of DCH data initiatives according to strategic priorities.
- Leads the Data Request Management Committee and is an active participant in the Research Oversight Committee.
- Develops and systematizes health system data governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with information security regulations as well as appropriate data agreements.
- Partners with leaders across the organization to ensure access and tracking capabilities of DCH data for internal metrics and analysis with a deep knowledge and understanding of industry best practices and baseline metrics.
- Develops enhanced business processes, requirements, specifications, and reporting in response to evolving customer requirements and anticipated future needs.
- Supports a culture of continual improvement, displaying a willingness to evolve, adapt, and implement new solutions that improve operational efficiency and/or effectiveness which guide departmental and organizational objectives.
- Responsive and adaptive in a dynamic healthcare environment.
- Under the direction of the Director of Strategic Execution, actively contributes to the project management activities of assigned data initiatives and maintains responsibility and accountability for assigned work contributing to the success of the overall system roadmap.
- Responsible for scheduling data initiative timelines including data quality assurance, modeling, querying, and report writing.
- Oversees multiple analytical projects simultaneously, while using independent judgment.
- Ensures accuracy in a timely manner while assuming ownership for report and data quality, prioritizing those data requests and projects that are time sensitive.
- Responsible for leading the Enterprise Analytics Team in developing, implementing, and planning the utilization of advanced technology consistent with customer requirements and industry standards.
- Provides technical leadership for data initiatives and contracts involving data extractions, reports, and other data specifications.
- Collaborates with leadership within functional areas including Informatics and Information Technology to develop and implement reporting and interfacing solutions.
- Consults with leaders to develop and implement complex reporting and analytical processes.
- Ensures all relevant data protection, information security and data retention/giving policies are adhered to while possessing the highest level of confidentiality standards.
- Evaluate systems (Meditech and other software solutions) and processes to identify innovative solutions to improve productivity.

Qualifications
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Required Education, Experience & Skills:
- Master’s Degree in a business, information technology, healthcare, or related field.
- 8+ years’ experience in data analytics, data science, statistics, or related field.
- Experience working in data management & governance; data management background understanding data ingestion, proper use, consumption, quality, and stewardship.
- Ability to partner with business and technical subject matter experts to ensure standardization.
- Ability to describe business use cases/outcomes, data sources and management concepts, and analytical approaches.
- Proficiency in SQL, Salesforce, and other analytical visualization programs.
- Experience working with strict timelines and deliverables on healthcare contracts and specification documents.
- Prior management and mentorship experience.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with other health system leaders to support strategic initiatives.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Doctorate degree in related field.
- 10+ years’ experience in developing information technology applications and data warehouse solutions.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Lifting up to 10 lbs. maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as files, patient charts, computer printouts, etc.
- Must have good manual dexterity.
- Hearing and vision must be normal or corrected to within normal range.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, and/or crouch on occasion.
