Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and acknowledge every guest with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality, following the restaurant’s service standards while anticipating and exceeding guest expectations through personalized and attentive service.
• Deliver exceptional fine dining experiences by consistently executing all steps of service in accordance with the restaurant’s luxury standards and applicable Forbes Travel Guide service expectations.
• Present and serve food and beverage orders with precision, elegance, and attention to detail, ensuring proper timing, presentation, temperature, and accuracy throughout the dining experience.
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, garnishes, allergens, dietary accommodations, and presentation, confidently guiding guests through their dining selections.
• Describe menu items, daily specials, wine selections, and beverage offerings with clarity and sophistication, providing thoughtful recommendations tailored to individual guest preferences.
• Anticipate guests’ needs by observing verbal and nonverbal cues, proactively replenishing beverages and table essentials, and ensuring every detail of the dining experience is attended to without unnecessary interruption.
• Maintain expert knowledge of the restaurant’s Steps of Service, service etiquette, table maintenance, food and beverage presentation, and luxury hospitality protocols.
• Prepare assigned service stations before opening, verifying the cleanliness and proper presentation of tables, chairs, table settings, service equipment, and all guest-facing areas.
• Ensure all necessary service tools and equipment are properly maintained and readily available, including trays, pens, corkscrews, wine service tools, and other designated service essentials.
• Maintain impeccable cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the dining room, service stations, side stations, and other assigned areas throughout the shift.
• Execute wine and beverage service with professionalism and precision, demonstrating proper handling, presentation, and service techniques in accordance with established restaurant standards.
• Coordinate effectively with culinary, bar, and service teams to ensure accurate order delivery, appropriate pacing between courses, timely communication of special requests, and seamless execution of each guest’s dining experience.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns, exercising sound judgment and escalating service recovery situations to the appropriate supervisor or manager when necessary.
• Maintain a high level of awareness regarding guest preferences, special occasions, dietary requirements, and other relevant details to provide thoughtful, discreet, and personalized service.
• Process guest payments accurately, complete assigned cashier and closing reports, reconcile discrepancies, deliver receipts as required, and secure cash banks and financial transactions in accordance with established procedures.
• Secure alcoholic beverages, wines, beers, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas according to restaurant policies and inventory control procedures.
• Complete all opening, side work, and closing duties, ensuring the restaurant is properly prepared for subsequent service periods.
• Comply with all food safety, sanitation, hygiene, workplace safety, and security policies and procedures. Promptly report accidents, injuries, hazards, and unsafe working conditions to the appropriate supervisor.
• Complete all required safety training, service training, and certifications relevant to the position.
• Maintain impeccable personal grooming, professional appearance, and uniform standards consistent with the restaurant’s luxury image.
• Foster positive working relationships with colleagues and other departments, demonstrating teamwork, accountability, discretion, and a shared commitment to exceptional guest satisfaction.
• Protect confidential guest information and proprietary hotel and restaurant information, exercising discretion and professionalism at all times.
• Demonstrate flexibility, composure, and professionalism in a fast-paced environment while maintaining consistent service quality and attention to detail.
• Perform other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to support the smooth operation of the restaurant and uphold the hotel’s standards of excellence.

Qualifications

• Strong passion for luxury hospitality, exceptional guest service, and delivering personalized dining experiences with professionalism and attention to detail.
• Previous experience as a server or in a similar position within a fine dining restaurant, preferably in a luxury hotel or upscale hospitality environment.
• Ability to handle challenging situations with tact, discretion, composure, and effective problem-solving skills while maintaining exceptional service standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and maintain service excellence under pressure.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift, carry, and handle items weighing up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, based on operational needs.
• Fully Bilingual (Spanish and English).
