Position Summary

The Recruiter is responsible for identifying, sourcing, screening, and engaging qualified candidates for skilled craft, technical, and professional positions supporting energy, nuclear, government, industrial construction, and related projects.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, resourceful, and comfortable managing multiple recruiting priorities in a fast-paced environment. This individual should have an understanding of the full-cycle recruiting and hiring process and recognize how communication, documentation, follow-up, and effective handoffs contribute to a positive candidate experience.

A successful Recruiter will take the initiative to research positions, trades, terminology, certifications, and project requirements to develop a strong understanding of what hiring managers are looking for. This position requires a self-starter who takes ownership of their responsibilities, communicates effectively, works well within a team, and remains a dependable resource for candidates throughout the hiring process.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Source and recruit qualified candidates for skilled craft, technical, professional, and project-based positions.

  • Recruit for positions supporting energy, power generation, nuclear, government, industrial construction, maintenance, and related industries.

  • Develop a strong understanding of assigned positions by researching job duties, trade terminology, required skills, certifications, experience, and industry-specific qualifications.

  • Partner with hiring managers and internal stakeholders to understand staffing needs, position requirements, project expectations, and the qualifications necessary for a successful candidate.

  • Ask appropriate questions and seek additional information when necessary to ensure a clear understanding of what the hiring manager is looking for.

  • Proactively source candidates through ATS databases, job boards, professional networks, referrals, industry contacts, and other available recruiting resources.

  • Conduct thorough candidate screenings to evaluate relevant experience, qualifications, skills, availability, location, travel requirements, and overall alignment with the position.

  • Clearly communicate available position and assignment information to candidates, ensuring they understand expectations, requirements, and next steps.

  • Maintain open and consistent communication with candidates throughout the recruiting and hiring process, serving as a reliable point of contact even when questions or needs fall outside the recruiter's direct responsibilities. Provide assistance when possible and connect candidates with the appropriate resource when additional support is needed.

  • Maintain a positive candidate relationship throughout the hiring process by being responsive, professional, and willing to assist with questions or concerns.

  • Ensure candidate information and documentation are accurate and complete before transitioning candidates to the appropriate next step or team member.

  • Maintain accurate and timely candidate records, notes, statuses, and recruiting activity within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and other required systems.

  • Build and maintain pipelines of qualified candidates for current and anticipated staffing needs.

  • Follow up with candidates regarding outstanding information or requirements and proactively address recruiting-related issues that could cause delays.

  • Manage multiple open positions and candidate pipelines simultaneously while maintaining organization, accuracy, and attention to detail.

  • Work collaboratively with recruiters, coordinators, hiring managers, operations, and other internal stakeholders to support staffing objectives and ensure effective candidate handoffs.

  • Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and independently identify and execute appropriate next steps without requiring constant direction.

  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency and adjust recruiting priorities as staffing and project needs change.

  • Represent the company professionally and contribute to a positive candidate experience from initial contact through the hiring process.

  • Maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive candidate and company information.

  • Perform additional recruiting and staffing responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous recruiting  experience required.

  • Experience recruiting skilled tradespeople within energy, power generation, nuclear, government contracting, industrial construction, maintenance, or similar industries strongly preferred.

  • Working knowledge and understanding of the full-cycle recruiting and hiring process, including how the various stages work together to create an effective hiring process and candidate experience.

  • Experience sourcing, screening, and engaging skilled craft, technical, and/or professional candidates.

  • Ability and willingness to research unfamiliar positions, trades, terminology, certifications, qualifications, and technical requirements.

  • Ability to understand hiring manager needs and translate those requirements into an effective recruiting and sourcing strategy.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Team-oriented with the ability to communicate, collaborate, and share information effectively.

  • Resourceful and willing to seek answers or assistance when faced with unfamiliar positions or recruiting challenges.

  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where staffing and project priorities may change.
