Description
## Join our Team
About this opportunity:
Modern telecom development and verification rely on advanced lab environments where equipment, configurations and network capabilities need to work together. To make these environments easier to build and use, Ericsson works with Building Blocks, predefined and reusable sets of lab equipment that provide specific capabilities. While Building Blocks should be simple for end users, the underlying technical environment can be complex. In this Master Thesis, you will explore how cloud-native technologies, automation and APIs can simplify the creation, management and lifecycle of Building Blocks. Your work can contribute to more efficient, reusable and scalable lab environments, reducing manual work and making it easier for engineers to access the capabilities they need for development and testing.
### What you will do
You will investigate, design and prototype a cloud-native solution for managing Building Blocks throughout their lifecycle. Your work will include:
- Analyze current needs, users and workflows for creating and managing Building Blocks.
- Design an architecture and data model covering capabilities, lab equipment, ownership, lifecycle and role-based access.
- Develop a cloud-native prototype with API integration, workflow support and lifecycle governance, while separating the end-user experience from the underlying technical lab configuration.
- Explore observability using logs, metrics, traces and status monitoring.
- Evaluate the prototype based on usability, maintainability, API functionality and operational visibility.
- Demonstrate the prototype and present your proposed architecture and results to the Ericsson team.
The skills you bring:
We are looking for 1–2 Master’s students who have:
- A background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- An interest in cloud-native development and technologies.
- Knowledge of or an interest in APIs, Kubernetes and automation.
- An interest in observability, lab systems or network test environments.
