Assistant Manager

Description

Assistant Managers run the shift. You’re on the floor, the line, and the expo window making sure every plate looks right, every guest feels welcome, and every team member knows the game plan. You’ll work alongside our GM, coaching the crew and keeping quality, speed, and cleanliness dialed in.

PAY: $21-$25 per hour
Hourly, non-exempt, and paid for every hour you put in.

What you’ll own on your shifts:

• Run line checks, prep, and par levels, and expedite the pass to coach the team on plating, temperature, and ticket times
• Work the floor at peak, resolve guest complaints, and pass along compliments
• Complete the FOH log, assign stations, schedule breaks, and lead pre-shift meetings
• Lead and coach the team with daily feedback, and keep management informed on performance and staffing
• Keep the workplace safe, clean, and harassment-free, and report incidents to the GM
• Complete FOH and BOH checks every shift
• Control labor, food cost, and waste, and follow cash handling and banking procedures

Requirements

What you bring:

• Previous restaurant or supervisory experience preferred
• Clear communication in English, written and spoken
• Basic math skills for cash handling and shift accounting
• Sound judgment and the ability to motivate and coach a team
• Flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to obtain and maintain an alcohol service permit and ServSafe Certification

The physical stuff:
8-10 hours on your feet per shift, with frequent bending and lifting of 20-50 lbs (rarely over 50) and occasional work near moving mechanical parts. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
