Glenview Public Library is seeking a proactive, creative, service-focused part-time Adult Collections Librarian who is enthusiastic about books and collection promotion. In this role, you will combine collection development expertise with engaging promotion to connect our community with adult fiction, nonfiction, and digital resources.

· Fridays 9:00am to 1:00pm

· With a four-week rotation for weekends.

       Weekend rotation hours are:

                Saturday 9:00am to 5:00pm

                And Sunday 1:00pm to 5:00pm

The pay range for this role is $28.00 to $35.00 per hour.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, IMRF pension program, paid time off, as well as other related benefits. Health, dental, and vision insurance premiums are 100% employee-paid through payroll deduction.

In this role, you will:

· Select, evaluate, and maintain adult collections using community insight, publishing knowledge, and data.

· Influence collection-focused social media posts, reels, website content, and newsletter contributions in collaboration with colleagues.

· Develop inviting displays, reading lists, and other promotions that increase collection discovery and use.

· Provide reference and readers’ advisory service at our public service desks, helping patrons find materials and resources that match their interests and needs.

· Promote digital collections, databases, and other resources that support learning and exploration.

· Collaborate across departments to connect collection promotion with library services and strategic goals.

You’ll bring:

· Enthusiasm for adult fiction and nonfiction, curiosity about publishing trends, and a desire to share books with others.

· Familiarity with social media and an interest in creating engaging collection-focused content.

· Strong communication skills and a welcoming, relationship-focused approach to patron service.

· Creativity, initiative, and the ability to manage projects and work collaboratively.

· Comfort using technology and a commitment to continued learning.
