The college is seeking a qualified adjunct professor of majors-level physics. LWTech offers the PHYS&221, PHYS&222, and PHYS&223 (Engineering Physics I, II, and III) sequence. An instructor who can teach all of the courses in the sequence is preferred. Full course outlines can be accessed in the college’s online catalog at catalog.LWTech.edu.
- Teach to the learning outcomes of the approved curriculum
- Plan and develop a variety of instruction objectives and experiences appropriate to the program goals
- Design learning experiences for the unique characteristics of individual adult students through classes, individual instruction, and self-directed learning
- Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments
- Develop and teach lessons which foster and support equitable student learning and cultural diversity
- Teach productive and constructive study skills to students
- Develop classroom and lab procedures in conformance with identified policies and procedures
- Maintain appropriate records which indicate student progress and meet college requirements
- Post the class syllabus and students' grades via the online course system (Canvas)
- Follow disciplinary procedures as prescribed and deal consistently and fairly with all students
- Masters degree in physics or a closely related field
- 2 years teaching experience required; college teaching experience preferred
- Previous experience with an online course system (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, Sakai, Moodle) preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have sensitivity and ability to successfully interact with diverse populations

Placement on the faculty salary schedule is based on an individual assessment of education and experience. The salary for part time faculty contracts shall be based upon the number of credits assigned the faculty member, the type of class taught, and the rates contained in the part time faculty salary schedule currently in effect and labeled Appendix B.
