Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the Laboratory Technician I is responsible for carrying out molecular laboratory analyses within our Genomics Unit. In this lab, in addition to DNA and/or RNA extractions, you will also perform molecular analyses using the latest technologies.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the Laboratory Technician I is responsible for carrying out molecular laboratory analyses within our Genomics Unit. In this lab, in addition to DNA and/or RNA extractions, you will also perform molecular analyses using the latest technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform specialized molecular analyses of varying complexity on different platforms
- Control the operation of analysis equipment and report malfunctions
- Monitor lab processes and record data in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Prepare analyses, equipment, and samples according to testing requirements
- Document the laboratory work performed
- Assist with data interpretation
- Professional bachelor's degree in Medical, Pharmaceutical, or Biomedical Laboratory Technology, or Biochemistry
- Prior experience in a molecular laboratory is a plus
- Able to use a computer (Word, Excel) and a database, or willing to learn
- Flexible, communicative, and enjoys working in a team
- Works within a quality system (ISO 15189:2012), requiring accuracy and the ability to work in a planned and documented manner
- Able to express ideas fluently, both orally and in writing, in Dutch and English
- Strong reporting skills for processing results
- Flexible and enthusiastic working attitude, with decisiveness
- Position type: Full time, 100% on-site
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm
- Location: Sint-Bavostraat 78, 2610 Antwerpen (Wilrijk), Belgium
