Description
We are hiring Class A drivers in the Fort Smith area, including Arkoma, Van Buren, Poteau and Sallisaw, for a dedicated grocery fleet that runs at night. You haul refrigerated and dry grocery loads to stores, you never touch the freight, and you are home every week for your 34-hour reset. Drivers average $1,100 to $1,200 a week. New CDL holders are trained and paid $800 a week while they learn. Drivers with 6 months or more of recent experience start solo after orientation.
Pay
- $0.49 to $0.60 per mile based on verifiable experience
- About $1,100 to $1,200 a week
- About 1,600 to 1,800 miles a week
- $10 for the first stop, $15 for each stop after
- $20 extra on loads under 110 miles
- $800 a week during training
- Paid weekly by direct deposit
What is good about this seat
- No-touch freight. Drop and hook and live unloads, but you never handle the load.
- Home every week for your reset.
- Steady, consistent grocery freight that does not slow down.
What you should know before you apply
- This is a night job, and weekends are worked.
- It is a six-day work week.
- Routes change, and some nights you wait for a load to be ready.
- You will pull reefer trailers as well as dry vans.
- Training goes out with the first available mentor, which can mean regional or OTR runs until you finish.
Getting started
A recruiter calls and goes over your license and record. Orientation takes two days at most, with your hotel covered and your bus ticket paid back, and pays $300 once you are hired. New drivers then train 3 to 5 weeks, about 200 to 250 hours, at $800 a week. Drivers with 6 months of OTR experience in the last 12 months go straight to solo work on this fleet.
Benefits after 30 days
Medical, dental, vision and prescription. 401(k) and employee stock purchase plan. Paid time off. A free online degree for you and one family member.
Requirements
- Class A CDL from your state of residence, 21 or older
- Completed CDL-A training at a truck driving school (minimum 120 hours), or 6 months of OTR experience in the last 12 months
- No more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years
- No DUI/DWI in the last 10 years
- DOT physical, hair and urine drug screen
If you are a night owl who wants to be home every week and never touch a load, apply today. A recruiter will call you.
