University Radiology, the largest provider of subspecialty radiology and teleradiology services in NJ, is comprised of over 200 Board Certified radiologists with advanced U.S.-based training and expertise in all modalities and all subspecialty areas. In operation for more than 60 years, University Radiology staffs, manages and provides preliminary and final subspecialty interpretations and consultative support for hospitals, imaging centers and other medical facilities, and serves as the academic radiology faculty at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Our physicians interpret over 2.1 million radiology procedures per year.

Responsibilities

University Radiology has an incredible opportunity for TWO highly skilled and compassionate Full-Time  Ultrasound  Vascular Technologists to join our dynamic imaging team and work in our NEW Lyndhurst, NJ Imaging Office.  In this position, you will play a critical role in patient care!  The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound exams in an outpatient setting, producing high-quality images that radiologists and referring physicians use to diagnose and monitor patient conditions.

 

2 Shifts Available

 

M - F 7:30 am - 4:00 pm & 8:00 am - 4:30pm

One Saturday month (with a comp day off) 

 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams, including Abdominal, OB/GYN, and Breast Ultrasound Studies, as well as Vascular studies.   
• Capture high-quality images and clear technical notes for our radiologists
• Provide a warm, professional experience for every patient
• Review physician orders and patient history to confirm the exam is appropriate and protocols are followed
• Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and put them at ease
• Operate ultrasound equipment to capture optimal diagnostic images and measurements
• Identify normal and abnormal findings and prepare preliminary technical notes for the interpreting radiologist
• Recognize urgent or critical findings and communicate them promptly per office protocol

 

In addition to being RVT certified, our Ultrasound Vascular Techs are also required to be certified in Abdomen, Breast, and OB/GYN. Ultrasound Vascular Techs must be certified in RVT and at least one of these areas to qualify. URG will reimburse for educational materials and exams for additional certifications, as well as a bonus once obtained. 

 

*May be required to perform duties in or near areas containing specialized imaging equipment and must be able to adhere to all department and facility safety protocols.

Qualifications

• ARDMS Registered in Abdomen, Breast, OB/GYN
• ARDMS or ARRT Registered in Vascular Sonography
• Minimum of 2+ years of work experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Pay Range:

From $42/hr

 

The rate provided is based on industry standards for candidates with 0 – 5 years of experience. Salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience, education and operational needs.
