Description

Marketing & Client Development Senior Specialist – Digital Experience, Email

Cooley is seeking a Marketing & Client Development Senior Specialist – Digital Experience, Email to join the Marketing and Client Development team.

About Cooley: Cooley is a global law firm with an expansive practice and more than 3,000 employees and partners worldwide. We value and celebrate diverse perspectives and strive to create a workplace where every individual can thrive. At the core of Cooley’s success is the exceptional talent and unwavering spirit of our people. We embrace individuality while fostering a ‘one-firm’ culture where collaboration and creativity thrive. Our people are the foundation of our success and the driving force behind everything we do.

Hybrid Schedule Philosophy: As part of the Cooley culture, we recognize and appreciate the value of being together, in person, to build comradery with others in the office and to be a contributing member of the Cooley office. However, we also appreciate the benefits and flexibility that come from remote working. As such, the default assumption for employees and partners is a hybrid schedule: some in-office presence and some work from home days absent certain essential in-office roles that require five (5) days/week in-office.

Position summary: This role is part of the Strategy, Transformation & Growth Team, which acts as the firm’s "central nervous system," building the scalable infrastructure and data-backed frameworks that allow Marketing & Client Development to move from reactive execution to proactive, high-impact strategy. It ensures that strategic choices and unique brand differentiating experiences (spanning high-end events to targeted digital channels) are translated into repeatable, optimized market performance that makes the firm stand out in market. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Position responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Campaign Execution: Execute the day-to-day build and deployment of email campaigns, including template selection, HTML/text formatting, and rigorous link testing.
  • Automation Workflow Construction: Build and maintain automated nurture sequences and trigger-based workflows within the MAP (Marketing Automation Platform) to support client journeys.
  • Segmentation & List Management: Perform advanced database segmentation and list cleanup to ensure highly targeted communications and prevent "fatigue" across client contacts.
  • Offshore Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for offshore execution resources, reviewing their work for accuracy and managing the daily production queue.
  • QA & Compliance Oversight: Serve as the final gatekeeper for quality assurance, ensuring all emails are mobile-optimized and fully compliant with global privacy regulations (GDPR/CCPA).
  • A/B Testing Implementation: Set up and execute testing protocols for subject lines, send times, and creative assets to provide the Senior Manager with data-driven optimization insights.
  • Performance Reporting: Pull and synthesize standard channel metrics (open rates, CTR, bounce rates) into actionable reports for MCD stakeholders.
  • Dynamic Content Management: Manage the implementation of dynamic content blocks to ensure personalized experiences for different practice areas and personas.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Monitor system health and resolve technical delivery issues, escalating to the Senior Manager or IT when necessary.
  • Asset & Library Maintenance: Organize and maintain the digital asset library within the MAP, ensuring all templates and images are current and on-brand.
  • All other duties as assigned or required

  • Working knowledge of email QA processes, deliverability, and compliance best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to exhibit analytical and critical thinking in day-to-day tasks along with the proven ability to operate at an elevated level in terms of scope of responsibility, judgement and autonomy
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate escalating ownership and mastery of assigned area, exhibit strength in the areas below, become a resource and mentor to others and more as they progress in different roles within the department
