Job Description

As a Security Officer Shipping Company in Grand Rapids, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener in a logistics and distribution location, you will help support a secure environment by screening personnel, visitors, and materials; monitoring access points; and reporting security-related concerns. Your visible presence, strong communication, and customer service skills will help deter incidents while supporting efficient operations. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, and personnel by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Screen individuals, packages, and other authorized items entering or leaving the distribution location in accordance with site procedures.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, shipping documentation, and authorization for entry to restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document and report observations to appropriate site contacts.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the distribution facility, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
