BIM Coordinator

A major transport infrastructure project (valued at more than $1 billion) is underway across South East Queensland, delivering complex rail, station and civil works. Having won numerous major projects in Queensland in the past 12 months, the head contractor is seeking a BIM Coordinator to coordinate BIM and common-data-environment workflows so design and construction teams rely on coordinated, current and appropriately classified information.

Working within the digital engineering team, the BIM Coordinator keeps the project's models and information trustworthy from design through to handover. Day to day, that means managing model submissions and federation in the common data environment, enforcing naming, status and revision rules set out in the BIM execution plan, and running clash and coordination reviews with the design disciplines. You'll work closely with design managers, engineers and site teams to resolve issues, check that models carry the right information for planning, quantities and asset handover, and help construction crews use the model in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer model exchange, federation, naming, status, revision and approval workflows per the BIM execution plan
• Manage common data environment structure, permissions and information containers
• Run multidisciplinary clash and coordination reviews and maintain issue registers through to closure
• Check model geometry, attributes and level of information for construction planning, quantities and handover
• Support site teams with model-based review, visualisation and field access
• Coordinate as-built model updates and asset-information deliverables
• Report on model quality, compliance and coordination progress to project leadership

What We're Looking For

• Qualification in engineering, architecture, construction, drafting or digital engineering
• 4+ years' BIM or digital-engineering coordination on complex infrastructure or building projects
• Revit, Navisworks or equivalent tools, with working knowledge of ISO 19650 principles and CDE administration
• Experience with federated models and clash detection across multiple design disciplines
• Ability to explain model and information requirements clearly to design and site teams
• Strong attention to detail and process discipline
