Medical Technologist - Per Diem

Description

• Performs routine, standardized biological/biochemical test procedures and analyzes results of test, to assist the physician in the diagnosis/clinical management of patients
• Collaborates with Physicians/Lab Director on patient data
• Provides age-specific treatment/care, based on the principles of growth/development
• Other roles and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• Successful completion of medical laboratory technology program and/or equivalent education, training, and/or expe­rience, unless waived by CLIA. 
• Registered or registry eligible. 

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Demonstrat­ed computer skills. 
• Technical knowledge and skills are necessary to perform pro­cedures efficiently. 
• Excellent com­munication skills necessary to deal with people from vary­ing backgrounds, in a profes­sional, courteous manner. 
• Math­ematical skills are required to perform various calcula­tions. 
• Clerical perception is necessary to detect errors, prepare records accurately, and to organize and maintain daily workflow. 
• Verbal ability required for understanding written and verbal instructions. 

Physical Requirements:

• Work is of light demand. 
• Routine lifting requirements of less than 50 pounds. 
• Stand­ing, sitting, walking, bending, and reaching required. 
• Exposure to hazardous infec­tious biological specimens and caustic reagents. 
• Works in­side. 
• Motor coordination and finger dexterity are nec­essary to operate equipment.
