Staff Backend Engineer - Remote — North and South America

A market-leading self-custodial Ethereum wallet with strong product credibility, open-source participation, and a clear emphasis on secure digital asset management across mobile and browser surfaces.

 

This is a staff-level backend role for an engineer who can shape architecture, ship complex features, and raise the technical bar on a platform that directly powers the company’s mobile applications and browser extension.

The mandate combines hands-on execution with technical leadership: improving the underlying systems, partnering closely with product and design, and helping the broader engineering organization maintain a high standard for performance, security, and user experience.

 

• Drive technical decisions and architectural improvements across the backend platform supporting the mobile apps and browser extension.
• Implement complex features with a strong focus on performance, security, and product quality.
• Mentor and guide other engineers, contributing to a culture of technical excellence.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to deliver polished, user-centric experiences.

 

• Strong proficiency in Go.
• Meaningful interest in — and ideally experience with — Ethereum, Web3, NFTs, DeFi, and their underlying systems.
• Experience building and supporting robust, secure, and scalable backend applications.
• Deep knowledge of systems design and API design.
• A security-conscious development mindset.

 

• Experience with AWS (including CloudFront, EKS, MSK, and SQS), Kubernetes, Kafka, Postgres, and Redis.
• Familiarity with TypeScript, GraphQL, Terraform, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD.

1. Initial conversation with a finance or business leader.
2. GitHub review by the engineering team.
3. Three technical interviews (45–60 minutes each) covering different technical topics.
