The Role
We are looking for a dependable and motivated Cook to join our PM culinary team. In this role, you will prepare high-quality meals while strictly adhering to standardized recipes and specialized therapeutic diet guidelines. You will be responsible for ensuring that meal service is timely, safe, and meets the highest standards of sanitation.
Key Responsibility
Meal Preparation: Cook and season nutritious meals according to approved menus and standardized recipes.
Therapeutic Diets: Prepare food accurately for regular, therapeutic, and modified diets (including pureed and texture-modified items).
Safety & Sanitation: Maintain a pristine kitchen environment by following HAACP principles, Title 22 regulations, and infection control procedures.
Food Safety Compliance: Monitor and record food temperatures; ensure sanitizer solutions are properly maintained.
Inventory Management: Label, date, and rotate food supplies according to health department standards.
Team Leadership: Assist in supervising dietary staff and managing kitchen workflow in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
Requirements
Experience: Minimum 1 year of cooking experience, preferably in a healthcare, hospital, or senior living setting.
Certification: Valid ServSafe or California Food Handler's certificate (required or obtainable upon hire).
Skills: Ability to read and follow recipes, manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and work independently.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Stamina: Must be able to stand for long periods, work in a warm kitchen environment, and lift up to 30 pounds.
