Role Summary
The Maintenance Technician helps keep our Meridian, Mississippi post-acute care facility safe, functional, and comfortable by completing timely repairs and preventative upkeep.
Key responsibilities include coordinating maintenance needs with nursing staff in resident areas; performing routine repairs, preventative maintenance, and refurbishment support; maintaining grounds and common areas; monitoring and maintaining building systems and equipment; and assisting with safety inspections, tests, and drills while suggesting practical process improvements.
Required qualifications/skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years in building trades/maintenance preferred
- Familiarity with relevant tools and software
- Preferred knowledge: HVAC, electrical, plumbing
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

A Typical Shift
As a Maintenance Technician on the Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm schedule, you’ll start by reviewing work requests and prioritizing items that impact resident comfort and safety. You’ll move between resident rooms, common spaces, and outdoor areas, documenting updates as you go and communicating status clearly to the team. Midday often includes planned preventive tasks and quick checks of key systems, with time reserved for unexpected fixes. You’ll wrap up by confirming completed items, noting parts or follow-ups needed, and leaving the next day’s plan organized and ready.
