Description
Isidore Newman School seeks a Helpdesk Coordinator to join a dynamic, fast-paced team of experienced IT professionals positioned to install, support and maintain a variety of diverse technical offerings at Isidore Newman School.
Position Description: Under the supervision of the Director of Technology the Helpdesk Coordinator staffs the Helpdesk, troubleshoots laptop problems (imaging, simple repairs, interfaces with vendors for service requests), and interacts with students and faculty in a professional and helpful manner.
Working at Newman Founded in 1903, Newman has a rich history in the heart of New Orleans, just blocks from historic St. Charles Avenue, Audubon Park, and the vibrant music culture that makes our city one-of-a-kind. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as a representative of Newman, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with members of the Newman community and with the public.
- Troubleshoots and attempts to resolve technical problems when a device is brought to the Helpdesk.
- Develops, maintains, and reloads a software image onto devices which are not functioning correctly and where troubleshooting does not suggest a timely solution.
- Checks in and out technology and media equipment for use by individual faculty, staff, and students.
- Maintains an appropriate inventory of printer cartridges and disposable printer parts.
- Helps prepare and maintain procedures for the Technology Department.
- Works as a cooperative member of the technology team.
- Provides multi-channel support to the Newman community consisting of students, parents, faculty, staff, and administrators and all school managed facilities.
- Troubleshoots, resolves, or escalates hardware, software, network, phone, a/v, and printing problems.
- Helps manage software applications including rostering and reporting.
- Provides audio/visual setup support for school events and ongoing support for classroom a/v installations.
- Actively participates in the continuous improvement of technical services offered by the technology team.
- Assists with password management for students, faculty, and staff.
- Performs additional tasks as requested by the Technology Department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher (preferred) with experience in a professional, preferably academic, IT setting.
- Detail oriented team player with strong communication, troubleshooting, organizational, and customer service skills to serve students, faculty and staff.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding and to carry out written or verbal instructions.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and suggest reasonable solutions.
- Proficiency in:
- Microsoft Entra/Intune/Defender.
- Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Google Suite of products, Admin, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.
- Utilizes AI to enhance efficiencies.
- Candidates should be able to lift 50 lbs. and traverse multiple stories of stairs several times a day.
