Description

About the Lab

The Youth Affective Neuroscience Lab at the School of Social Sciences, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, conducts interdisciplinary research to advance understanding of adolescent mental health through the integration of neuroscience, psychology, computational methods and digital technologies. The lab employs multi-modal data to investigate brain function in relation to mental health outcomes (especially adolescent depression), with the goal of informing evidence-based interventions and improving youth well-being.

Key Responsibilities

The Youth Affective Neuroscience Lab is seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to contribute to cutting-edge research in adolescent mental health and affective neuroscience.

The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct advanced analyses of multi-modal datasets, including MRI/fMRI, behavioural and audio data

  • Develop reproducible statistical and machine learning analysis pipelines

  • Support grant writing, ethics submissions and project management

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary researchers, clinicians and external partners

  • Prepare manuscripts for high-impact journals and present findings at scientific conferences

  • Mentor students and junior researchers in quantitative and neuroimaging analysis methods

  • Contribute to laboratory research activities and other duties assigned by the Principal Investigator.

Job Requirements

  • PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or a closely related discipline

  • Demonstrated expertise in statistical modelling, computational data analysis and scientific programming (e.g. Python, MATLAB or R)

  • Experience applying advanced analytical techniques, including machine learning, to complex datasets

  • Experience with neuroimaging analysis (MRI/fMRI) is desirable

  • Strong publication record or evidence of research productivity commensurate with career stage

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary research environment

We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
