About the Role
The Buyer II at Sierra Space leverages knowledge and skills in sourcing, procurement, and supplier management to manage and execute procurement activities efficiently. They interact with leadership, suppliers, and external personnel to ensure coordination and compliance with company policies and procedures. The role involves managing more complex orders, negotiating terms and conditions with suppliers, conducting supplier performance assessments, and maintaining strong supplier relationships. The Buyer I also handles procurement documentation and stays informed about market trends and cost-saving opportunities.In this role, you will manage procurement activities for more complex orders, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. You will negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements and conduct supplier performance assessments while maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers. Additionally, you will handle procurement documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and interact with leadership, suppliers, and external personnel on matters often requiring coordination between functional organizations. You will stay informed about market trends, identify cost-saving opportunities, and use procurement software, such as SAP, to manage procurement processes and maintain accurate records.

Minimum Qualifications:
Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).
Typically 2+ years of related experience.
Intermediate understanding of sourcing and procurement strategies.
Supplier management and negotiation skills.
Knowledge of contract management and legal aspects of procurement.
Deeper awareness of market trends and cost-saving opportunities.
Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Outlook, and ERP/MRP systems, such as SAP.
Ability to interact with leadership, suppliers, and external personnel on matters often requiring coordination between functional organizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications: supply chain certification.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze market data and make informed decisions.
Experience in aerospace or a related industry.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong leadership skills with experience in driving procurement initiatives.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of procurement and supply chain management.
Compensation:
Pay Range:
$74,922.00 - $103,039.50Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
