Job Summary:

 

The Mechanic Helper will be responsible for performing routine maintenance on assigned Company fleet equipment with emphasis on safety and cost control.

 

The Details:Position Type: SeasonalSeason Dates: December 2026 - April 2026Pay: $17.25/hourSchedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on assigned Company fleet equipment with emphasis on safety and cost control.
• Diagnose vehicle problems and perform corrective maintenance with limited supervision.
• Contribute insight and suggestions into vehicle maintenance program.
• Complete accurate work orders showing labor and materials.
• Remain current with industry standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of shop and work areas.
• Personal safety and shop safety.
• Assist in other duties as assigned by the Manager of Transportation Services.

Qualifications

• Keep abreast of vehicle repair techniques.
• Diverse mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• At least 19 years of age.
• Computer skills a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 75 lbs. on a periodic basis.
• Must be able to stand, stretch, and bend for a 10 hour day.
• Must be able to work in sub-zero weather for a short period of time.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces. (i.e. under vehicles) or in strenuous positions.
• Must be able to use a respirator.
