Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant for our Float Pool II who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As a Nursing Assistant, you will:
• Perform various service duties and routine technical tasks such as vital signs and activities of daily living under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Specific duties may vary by area of assignment.
• Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.
• Participates in department and organizational education programs, meetings, committees, and professional initiatives
• Commits to personal, professional development in order to adapt effectively to ongoing change
• Presents a positive and professional image to represent nursing and the organization
• Follows the care plan as established and delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Receives report from the Registered Nurse
• Ensures a culture of safety
• Identifies resources necessary for safe delivery of patient care
• Appropriately utilizes resources
• Identifies and reports malfunctioning/expired equipment and supplies
• Ensures work areas and equipment are cleaned and stored appropriately

Qualifications include:
• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid Maryland CNA license required
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• One year of current experience in a hospital environment with strong computer skills
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations
• Ability to read, write and speak English in order to communicate effectively

Work Schedule:

This is a full time per diem (non benefitted) position that requires three 12 hours shifts per week. One Friday and one Monday within every four weeks schedule.

This role has a flat rate of $26/hr.

• Employment Type: Full Time

• Hours per Week: 36 hrs/week

• Typical Daily Schedule: 6:45p-7:15a Monday through Friday 

• Shift Type: Night

• Weekend Requirements: Must include 3 weekend shifts

• Holiday Requirements: Follow company holiday calendar

Pay Range:

If the salary range is not displayed or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.

Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as:
