Description
To thrive as a Network Engineer, you are a strategic problem solver who is passionate about building, securing, and optimizing enterprise network infrastructure. Success in this position requires deep technical expertise and a forward-thinking approach. It also requires a dedication to operational excellence to build scalable solutions that support current and future business needs. Ready to apply your expertise to modernize and strengthen an enterprise network while helping shape its future? We are looking for someone who enjoys solving complex challenges, driving innovation, exploring emerging technologies, and helping create a reliable, high-performing technology environment!
In this role, you'll lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of our network infrastructure while ensuring security, availability, and performance across the enterprise. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll evaluate emerging technologies and lead modernization initiatives, including automation and infrastructure solutions. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact, influence technology strategy, and help shape the future of our network environment. We value collaboration, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing, and we rely on this role to provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and lead troubleshooting efforts for critical network issues. Together, we'll build and maintain a resilient, secure, and future-ready network environment!
Here’s what we’re looking for:
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification preferred.
6+ years of experience supporting enterprise-level network infrastructure, including advanced network administration, troubleshooting, and engineering responsibilities.
Experience with enterprise-level hardware and software systems and a thorough understanding of network operating systems, applications, and development tools.
Advanced knowledge of routing and switching technologies, including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP, with hands-on experience administering Cisco (Catalyst/Nexus) and Aruba networking environments.
Strong expertise in enterprise network security, including VPNs, stateful inspection, zero-trust architecture, and Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls.
Proven experience designing, deploying, and optimizing SD-WAN solutions, including Aruba EdgeConnect (formerly Silver Peak) for highly available and resilient connectivity.
Experience with network automation and infrastructure-as-code, including scripting and administration using Python and Ansible.
Advanced monitoring and diagnostic skills, including traffic analysis, packet-level troubleshooting, and proactive network performance monitoring using tools such as Wireshark and SolarWinds.
Strong understanding of hybrid cloud networking architectures and experience managing secure connectivity across AWS and Azure environments.
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of understanding, evaluating, and communicating complex technical information to a variety of audiences.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop effective proposals, executive presentations, and technical recommendations.
Demonstrated experience in financial and project planning, including preparing technical budget forecasts, performing cost-benefit analyses to support infrastructure investments, and successfully leading complex network and infrastructure deployments using formal project management methodologies.
Proven ability to build productive relationships and collaborate effectively with staff, leadership, vendors, customers, and contractors while considering broader operational impacts when resolving network issues.
Special Requirements
The role is based on-site at Behr’s Corporate Headquarters in Santa Ana, California.
Must participate in a rotating on-call schedule. Provide support for planned network maintenance, system migrations, and emergency troubleshooting during evenings, weekends, and off-hours.
Ability to travel as required to offer technical support and project assistance.
Here is what we offer you:
Enjoy our hybrid schedule and 9/80 work option that gives you every other Friday off.
Quarterly and holiday bonuses are available.
Accrue 15 paid days of vacation time off the first year plus 5 days of sick time off.
