Full-time tenure-track position in Political Science at the rank of Assistant Professor

Subfield: International Political Economy

The Department of Political Science at McGill University invites applications for a tenure-track position in International Political Economy.  We welcome applications from outstanding early-career scholars with a strong research record in International Political Economy (IPE) who employ primarily quantitative methods. While we will consider candidates working in any substantive area of IPE, preference will be given to junior scholars whose research is methodologically rigorous and quantitative in orientation. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in IPE and should also be able to teach the graduate proseminar in International Relations.

The appointment is expected to be at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position start date is August 1, 2027.

Job Duties:
Teaching, research, and service to the institution.  All McGill faculty members are expected to contribute to service activities within their units, the University, and the wider scholarly community.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Candidates should have completed their PhD or be near completion. An applicant’s record of performance must provide evidence of outstanding research potential and the ability/potential to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate level, as well as evidence (or intentions) of undergraduate and graduate supervision and of mentoring students with diverse lived experiences.
