Job Summary

  • Northern Trust is seeking a Credit Risk Technology & Reporting professional with strong technical expertise in SQL, SAS, Python, reporting platforms, system testing and production support. Credit Risk or Regulatory Reporting knowledge is preferred.
  • The position offers high visibility and frequent interaction with Credit Risk, Data, IT, Regulatory Reporting, and senior management teams.
  • Candidates with experience in technology companies, FinTech organizations, or technology-focused roles within financial services are highly preferred.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between Credit Risk, Analytics, Reporting, and IT teams to discuss technical issues, resolve defects, and drive system enhancements.
  • Lead end-to-end system testing (SIT, UAT, regression testing) for application changes, data feeds, reporting enhancements, platform upgrades, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate environment setup, user access management, release deployments, and validation activities across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Perform data analysis, data reconciliation, and issue investigation to identify root causes of reporting discrepancies and support timely resolution.
  • Partner with IT, vendors, and infrastructure teams to track technical deliverables, follow up on incidents, and ensure timely resolution of production and project-related issues.
  • Support application migrations, platform upgrades, cloud adoption initiatives, and other technology projects impacting Credit Risk and Analytics reporting.
  • Leverage credit risk domain knowledge to validate business requirements, assess reporting impacts, and ensure accurate implementation of risk and regulatory reporting changes.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization using reporting tools, SQL, Python, SAS, Power Automate, or other approved technologies.

Knowledge / Experience Required:

  • Strong technical background with 6+ years of experience in SQL, SAS, Python, data visualization tools, reporting platforms, system testing and production support.
  • Candidates with a technology and application support background coupled with Credit Risk knowledge are strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in technology companies, technology-focused roles within financial services, FinTech organizations, with exposure to data platforms, system integrations, and environment management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with experience working closely with IT, Infrastructure, Data Engineering, and business stakeholders to drive technical initiatives and issue resolution.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, critical thinking, investigative problem-solving skills.
