Description
We are looking for a high-caliber Senior Financial Manager to lead the financial governance and shared services function for key operational business units. This is a senior leadership role offering an exciting opportunity to oversee full general ledger, accounts payable, working capital, and audit management for multiple statutory entities.
In this role, you will act as a strategic business partner to regional leaders and operational teams, steering business planning, forecasting, and financial risk management. You will play a pivotal role in driving continuous process improvements, optimizing cash flow, and elevating team capability through active mentorship and strategic leadership.
Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee full shared services financial operations (general ledger, accounts payable, intercompany reconciliations) for five statutory entities.
- Manage cash collection strategies, review and approve weekly cash forecasts, and optimize overall working capital levels.
- Lead internal control implementation, ensure compliance with corporate governance guidelines, and direct successful completions of internal and external audit cycles.
- Spearhead the strategic business plan and forecast process, delivering insightful financial analysis to guide business decisions.
- Oversee regional risk registers, implement risk mitigation controls, and manage critical supplier contracts and relationships.
- Drive continuous improvements across financial reporting, ERP workflows (SAP), and operational business processes.
- Manage, develop, and coach a diverse finance team to foster a high-performance culture and build organizational capacity.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related tertiary qualification.
- Qualified CA (SA)
- Minimum 8 years of post-articles financial experience, with at least 3 years spent at a senior management level.
- Hands-on leadership in shared services environments, managing accounts payable, general ledger recons (including payroll), IFRS compliance, tax laws, and audit governance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and manage a finance team effectively.
- Proficiency with enterprise ERP systems, particularly SAP.
- Financial management experience within heavy equipment, distribution, energy, industrial services, or machinery supply sectors.
- Experience managing multi-regional or multi-entity statutory financial operations.
