Job Summary

Mass General Brigham Ventures, the venture capital arm of Mass General Brigham (MGB), seeks talented and experienced individuals to support the fund’s mission of technology translation as a EIR. The EIR will apply his/her startup knowledge, operational experience, and market opportunity perspective to support and guide translation strategy and technical development of new technology emerging from the MGB investigator community. A critical responsibility of this position will be to help create a compelling business and program development plan based on market need, potential impact, project stage, and venture investment criteria. The candidate will bring an extensive professional network and will leverage MGBV’s expertise and resources to present and promote MGB venture start-up opportunities to potential co-investors and strategic partners.

It is expected that the EIR will play a role in the Newco beyond its first financing and will have the requisite operational skills to drive the company forward through the formative stages.

Structure:

Term: 6 month commitment.  MGB may conclude the engagement earlier if it does not perceive sufficient value.  MGBV may also extend your employment for a limited period upon mutual agreement where continued engagement is deemed beneficial to the technology and program objectives.

Work Arrangement: Primarily remote.

Additional Expectations: Beyond their primary scope, EIRs may occasionally be asked to lend their expertise as part of the broader MGB Innovation organization.  All participants will be required to sign MGB’s confidentiality agreement.

 

• Master’s degree is required; PhD is preferred in relevant disciplines.
• At least 10 years of experience in early-stage biotech or pharma discovery and development is required.
• Demonstrated success in raising capital for start-up, seed and early-stage companies is preferred. Experience in working with and leading diverse teams including business development, academic scientists and clinical professionals in a startup environment is preferred. The candidate should also have strong organizational skills, creativity, motivation, scientific acumen and be an excellent communicator.
