The Senior Financial Analyst will support the Finance function across reporting, analysis, forecasting, budgeting and business partnering activities. The role will provide accurate, timely and practical finance support to help business partners and divisions understand performance, make informed decisions and deliver against their financial priorities.
Key responsibilities
- Own weekly reporting and month-end analysis, ensuring outputs are accurate, timely and clearly explain business performance.
- Support monthly forecasting and annual budgeting, including data preparation, analysis, commentary and stakeholder follow-up.
- Analyse revenue, cost, margin, utilisation, headcount, pipeline and profitability performance against budget and forecast.
- Help prepare clear finance commentary, reporting packs, presentation decks and communications for business partners, divisions and senior stakeholders.
- Prepare ad hoc reports for Finance leader and other management as requested.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, improve and automate reporting processes over time, including the practical use of AI and reporting tools where appropriate.
Skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 to 5+ years’ experience in financial analysis, accounting, FP&A, commercial finance or a related field.
- Strong Excel skills, including working with structured reporting files, formulas, lookups, reconciliations, data checks and large data sets.
- Good understanding of accounting principles, revenue, cost, margin, utilisation, headcount and forecast reporting.
- Experience with integrated financial, operational or reporting systems. Workday, Salesforce/SFDC, NetSuite or similar systems would be beneficial.
- Working knowledge of Power BI, Power Query or similar reporting tools is desirable, but not essential from day one.
- Curiosity and a clear desire to improve, automate and simplify reporting processes over time, including a willingness to use AI to support analysis and process improvement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with good attention to detail and a focus on data accuracy.
- Ability to explain financial information clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
