PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: To develop, implement and evaluate human factors/ergonomic program strategies; to develop and deliver educational programs and materials; to serve as liaison to internal and external groups for human factors/ergonomics issues and opportunities; and to provide guidance in human factors/ergonomics issues and development.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES MAY INCLUDE :

  • Develops, implements and evaluates human factors/ergonomic program strategies; works with committees and teams to audit existing programs including development/evaluation of policies, standards, procedures risk reduction strategies, training and application of vendors.
  • Evaluates workplace and job design; researches risk-related studies and compliance issues.
  • Develops and delivers educational programs and materials.
  • Analyzes injury workplace loss data; provides formal reports and presentations addressing data; and provides advice and counseling to reduce workplace injuries.
  • Provides guidance for compliance with regulatory developments in human factors/ergonomics; conducts other Risk Services practice tasks as assigned.
  • Works with suppliers to influence external impacts on employee health (i.e. software and tool design).
  • Serves as liaison with vendors, insurance markets and other appropriate parties; identifies service opportunities.
  • Works with sales team in developing prospects into clients.
  • Participates in local and national level activities to advance knowledge and influence.
  • Maintains knowledge of and adherence to Company policies and procedures, Corporate directives and standard operating procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Licensing
Bachelor's degree with major in engineering, ergonomics, psychology or related field from an accredited college or university preferred.  Advance degree and/or Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE), Certified Human Factors Professional (CHFP), Certified Industrial Ergonomist (CIE) or Certified Human Factors Engineering Professional (CHFEP) certification strongly preferred.

Experience
Eight (8) years of related experience or equivalent combination of experience and education required to include five (5) years experience in progressive ergonomics role.

Work environment requirements may include –
Physical: Computer keyboarding
Auditory/visual: Hearing, vision and talking

As required by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency in job postings. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and cost of specific location. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is $91,000 to $170,000/year.  A comprehensive benefits package is offered including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, 401k and matching, PTO, disability and life insurance, employee assistance, flexible spending or health savings account, and other additional voluntary benefits.
