Overview
The IT Program Manager – IT Clinical Systems will serve as a centralized coordination resource for One Sentara Transformation Wave initiatives and other IT-driven initiatives by centralizing intake, validating requirements, coordinating IT engagement, and aligning IT Milestone Owner assignments.The role enables consistent execution, improves planning accuracy, and ensures cross-functional alignment. The IT Program Manager provides centralized expertise, governance, and coordination, driving operational efficiency and ensuring successful execution across IT initiatives within IT Clinical Systems.
Key Responsibilities
Intake & Initiative Readiness
Review and validate completeness of initiative documentation (BRD/TDD, scope, dependencies)
Identify gaps and coordinate with Initiative Owners (IOs), BRMs, and BAs
IT Ownership Coordination
Analyze initiative scope and determine appropriate IT ownership alignment
Coordinate and facilitate assignment of IT Milestone Owners
Support reassignment and escalation processes
Ensure ownership aligns with actual work effort and technical domain
Resource Coordination & Risk Management
Coordinate resource needs across inter-related initiatives
Support scope definition and risk assessment for technical programs
Identify cross-project risks and interdependencies and drive mitigation planning
Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence
Build strong relationships across IT, operations, and business leadership
Resolve conflicts and address project challenges across teams
Influence stakeholders outside direct reporting lines
Serve as a liaison across application, integration, analytics, and infrastructure teams
Small Project / Initiative Coordination
Provide coordination support for initiatives without assigned enterprise project managers
Track IT milestones and support execution alignment
Facilitate communication and issue resolution across stakeholders
Education
Bachelor's in Computer science or relevant field preferred
5+ years of experience accepted in Lieu of Bachelor's degree
Certification/Licensure
Certification and experience in relevant Epic application(s) Prelude, Cadence, HIM, Professional Billing, Hospital Billing, Cogito preferred
PMP preferred or obtained within 18 months
Experience
Experience within healthcare IT environments
Ability to influence without direct authority
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay rate for Full Time employment is:$106,080.00-$176,820.80. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
