Job Description

Increase Columbia Management sales through intermediary distributors by gaining and maintaining placement on research department discretionary and nondiscretionary platforms. Support smaller intermediary firms as assigned. Partner and support senior team members.

Responsibilities

  • Execute sales activity to deepen relationships with each research department, diversify analyst network, identify platform opportunities, and progress through the platform placement process.
  • Partner with senior team members to build relationships, develop strategic initiatives and oversee ongoing client service with sales and marketing partners.
  • Collaborate with Columbia’s Product Management and Investment teams to ensure that Advisory Research Relations team is fully informed about our commercially viable strategies, provide client feedback regarding industry trends and clients demand.
  • Analyze intermediary research platform recommended lists and model portfolios to identify opportunities and risks. Prepare competitor and market analytics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent
  • 5-7 years relevant experience
  • FINRA Series 7, Series 63/66, Series 65/66
  • Demonstrated interest in the capital markets and understanding of the mutual fund research process.
  • Strong relationship and sales experience in the asset management business, including distribution of mutual funds, and/or SMA strategies preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of investment analytics.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, as well as strong organizational skills required.
  • Experience in, or willingness to learn, analyzing mutual funds and/or recommended lists and discretionary models, identifying opportunities and strategically positioning strategies.
  • CFA or significant progress toward CFA

In-Office Collaboration:

We are a client-centric, relationship-based business. Working together, in-person, is foundational to how we achieve results. By fostering a culture of face-to-face collaboration, idea sharing, productivity and personal connection, we deliver for our stakeholders — clients, advisors, employees and shareholders. Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different in-office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.
 

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $120,000 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
