Description
The Planner/CMA is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring all preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for power generation equipment. The role ensures efficient utilization of manpower, spare parts, tools, and maintenance resources while maintaining accurate maintenance records through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The incumbent will support operational reliability, equipment availability, and maintenance performance reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling;
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for generators and associated equipment.
- Prepare detailed maintenance work plans, shutdown schedules, and resource requirements.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with operations teams to minimize downtime.
- Monitor compliance with planned maintenance schedules and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Support execution planning for major overhauls and maintenance shutdowns.
CMMS Administration;
- Maintain and update maintenance records within the CMMS.
- Create and manage work orders, maintenance schedules, equipment histories, and asset records.
- Ensure data accuracy and completeness for maintenance reporting and analysis.
- Utilize CMMS tools to improve maintenance planning efficiency and asset reliability.
- Experience with MAXIMO will be considered a significant advantage.
Predictive Maintenance & Equipment Health Monitoring;
- Analyze equipment performance trends and maintenance data.
- Monitor generator health through engine fluid analysis, vibration analysis, and other predictive maintenance techniques.
- Identify potential equipment failures and recommend preventive actions.
- Support reliability improvement initiatives based on maintenance data and trends.
Spare Parts Planning & Inventory Management;
- Forecast spare parts consumption and lifecycle requirements.
- Coordinate with stores and procurement teams to ensure critical parts availability.
- Monitor inventory levels and optimize stock management.
- Prepare spare parts requirement plans for maintenance activities and shutdowns.
Reporting & KPI Management;
- Prepare and submit maintenance reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Track and report maintenance KPIs including:
- Equipment Availability.
- Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
- Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
- Planned vs. Unplanned Maintenance.
- Maintenance Compliance Rates.
- Generate management reports and maintenance performance dashboards.
Resource Coordination;
- Plan labor, tools, equipment, and materials required for maintenance activities.
- Coordinate maintenance resources to ensure efficient execution of work plans.
- Support contractors and maintenance teams during planned shutdowns and major maintenance activities.
Compliance & Safety;
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with company procedures, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Promote a strong safety culture within maintenance operations.
- Participate in safety meetings, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma with strong relevant field experience; OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Power Engineering, Energy Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Power Generation, Caterpillar Generator Operations, Maintenance Planning, or Oil & Gas environments.
- Proven experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, and shutdown coordination.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Technical Skills;
- Advanced data interpretation and trend analysis skills.
- Strong knowledge of engine fluid analysis and vibration analysis.
- Sound understanding of diesel and CFO fuel systems.
- Understanding of LV and MV generator electrical systems.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar generator maintenance practices.
- Understanding of PM intervals, component lifecycle management, and maintenance forecasting.
- Strong spare parts planning and inventory control skills.
Systems & Software;
- Mandatory CMMS experience.
- Knowledge of MAXIMO is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
