Job Summary
Shambaugh & Son L.P. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical Process Group in Twin Falls, Idaho. In this role you will be responsible for the engineering and design of complex building mechanical utility systems specifically tailored for the Food Process industry.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Engineer and design building mechanical utility systems including, but not limited to, steam, chilled water, compressed air, HVAC, medical gases, and plumbing.
- Apply applicable building codes for various jurisdictions across the country.
- Navigate all aspects of the fast-track construction process using the Design-Build delivery method.
- Specify and order equipment, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, fans, air handling units, etc.
- Assist with the startup and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment and systems.
- Collect field data for existing systems and evaluate necessary upgrades.
- Communicate effectively with building trades when questions arise.
- Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- 10+ years in the construction industry, with a focus on mechanical system design.
- Strong background designing Utility, HVAC, plumbing, steam, and compressed air systems.
- Familiarity with fast-track construction and the Design-Build delivery method.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly encouraged but not strictly required.
- Background in the food process construction industry is a plus.
- Proven ability to mentor less experienced engineers and collaborate with building trades.
- Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required
