Description

Overview

Believe in People? So Do We.

At Change Grow Live, we believe every child, young person and family should be able to access the right support, at the right time, in a way that feels safe, respectful and meaningful.

Our values — Be open. Be compassionate. Be bold. — shape how we work every day, guiding how we support people, work with partners and lead our teams.

We are looking for an experienced and inspiring CYP Team Leader to join our Huddersfield service. You will lead a team of practitioners delivering high-quality, young person-centred support, while helping to shape service delivery, strengthen partnerships and improve outcomes for children, young people and families affected by substance use.

This role will suit someone who can lead with compassion, bring structure and confidence to a busy service, and create a positive culture where colleagues feel supported, accountable and able to do their best work.

About the role

As CYP Team Leader, you will provide line management, reflective supervision and day-to-day operational leadership to the team.

You will support practitioners to assess the needs of children, young people and families, develop effective support plans and encourage meaningful engagement. You will also help ensure the service maintains a proactive outreach approach, identifies areas of need and responds creatively to gaps or barriers in provision.

Partnership working will be central to the role. You will build strong relationships with Social Care, Youth Justice Services, education, health, safeguarding partners and other local agencies, helping to develop joined-up pathways and improve access to support.

You will also contribute to safeguarding, governance, performance monitoring, service improvement and staff development, ensuring the voice of the child or young person remains central to the work being delivered.

About you

You will have experience of working with children and young people affected by substance use, alongside a strong understanding of drugs, alcohol and their effects.

You will understand the challenges facing young people and families, including safeguarding, risk, exploitation, Hidden Harm and the wider impact of parental substance use.

You will also have experience of managing or leading people, including delivering reflective supervision, and will be confident supporting staff, addressing challenges and maintaining high professional standards.

You will be able to build effective partnerships, manage competing priorities and use data, records and outcome information to support quality and improvement.

Where you will work

Location: HuddersfieldHours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and any associated payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

  • Support project delivery and budget monitoring.
  • Encourage a positive learning culture through feedback, observed practice and development planning.
  • Deliver or support training around young people’s substance use and Hidden Harm.
