Description

The Heavy Haul Permit Coordinator (Perimeter Focus) plays a vital role in the success of our Heavy Haul and Projects operations by securing permits for OSOW moves and ensuring every detail of transport is carefully planned. From route analysis and dimensional assessments to coordinating necessary services, this role ensures safe, compliant, and efficient load movement. By proactively managing potential roadblocks, the coordinator helps reduce delays and drive both productivity and profitability.

 What You'll Do

  • Leads the Permit Request Status (PRS) process by validating load dimensions, perimeter requirements, weight specifications, and routing details in collaboration with drivers and Driver Managers.
  • Analyzes and defines load dimensions and routing plans to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient transport, while factoring in timing, cost, regulatory requirements, and perimeter constraints.
  • Supports Driver Managers during load execution by troubleshooting routing challenges, resolving perimeter-related issues, and addressing broader operational obstacles to maintain smooth delivery.
  • Handle all permitting with accuracy and speed, submitting applications and securing approvals from state and local agencies.
  • Coordinate essential support services like State Patrol escorts, utility trucks, and other partners to keep operations running seamlessly.
  • Act as the central problem-solver and liaison, working with drivers, fleet teams, permit services, and agencies to resolve issues, reduce risk, and continuously enhance efficiency.

  • A high school diploma (Associate's in business or admin a plus!)
  • Excellent time-management, organization, and multitasking abilities
  • Sharp attention to detail and strong prioritization skills
  • A customer-focused mindset with the ability to navigate tough situations professionally
  • Clear, confident communication—written, verbal, and listening
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Quick, effective problem-solving skills to keep operations moving
  • Strong map-reading skills and solid knowledge of U.S. geography

Compensation & Benefits:

  • The anticipated hourly pay range for this position begins at $23.00 - $30.00 per hour plus position is eligible for position specific incentive that averages $2/hour once fully trained & consistently meeting position expectations. Hourly pay rate offered is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic location as compared to others doing substantially similar work. In addition to the hourly rate of pay, employees may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which can vary depending on individual and/or company performance.
