General Job Description:
Responsible for assigned area of manufacturing operations including: production, packaging, and/or processing of ingredients or finished products, effective utilization of team members, equipment and materials. Assists with team member training, continuous improvement, quality, housekeeping, safety, cost control, problem solving and meeting departmental goals and objectives. Reports any discrepancies to supervision to obtain additional resources or assistance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Tasks:
Operations and Quality Management
- Monitors and follows up on scheduled work, reviews production schedules, and ensures equipment availability and proper operation.
- Ensures correct usage of raw materials, proper sanitation, and consistent product quality.
- Adheres to Quality policies, food safety requirements, and leads safety improvements and training.
Training and Development
- Trains new team members on methods and procedures, and provides ongoing training and communication on policy or process changes.
- Develops and leads team members, ensuring understanding and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Reporting and Flexibility
- Prepares and reviews operational reports, verifies production data, and communicates metrics to team members.
- Learns and uses the ROSS ERP system, SharePoint platform, and Excel for data management.
- Works a flexible schedule to meet departmental demands and performs additional duties as requested.
- Maintains excellent time management and organizational skills, effective communication, and physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
INTERNAL REQUIREMENTS AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION:
- Must have been in their current position 90 days to transfer to another shift, line, or department; no time in seat requirement for demotions on the same shift
- No more than 4 occurrence points
- No more than two (2) written warnings in the last 12 months
