Description

SCMI1 has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill a vacant role in Metrics and Program Support. The candidate's functions will be commensurate with the responsibilities of an Engineering Technician VI, providing critical technical assistance for the United States Navy, to include: 

  • Engineering evaluations  
  • Maintenance tracking for U.S. Navy surface ships and submarines 
  • Clerical support 
  • Record keeping 
  • Financial management 
  • Contract oversight 
  • Audit and inspection assistance 
  • Human Resources services 

Location:  Naval Base San Diego - San Diego, CA 92136

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include: 

  • DFS Adjudication 
  • Contract Management Oversight 
  • Critical Work Certification support 
  • Work Complete Certification support 
  • Engineering Service Requests support  
  • Fleet Technical Assistance 
  • Assessments 
  • Integrated Class Maintenance Plans (ICMP) 
  • Total Ship Readiness Assessments (TSRA) 
  • Type Commander (TYCOM) material inspections (TMI) 
  • Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV) assessments  
  • Create Material Assessment Findings (MAF) and report to the cognizant Assessment Director (AD) upon completion of Total Ship Readiness Assessment (TSRA) tasks.  
  • Ability to comply with all safety and environmental requirements 

Security Clearance Requirements: 

• Must possess and maintain an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance. 

Qualifications and Educational Requirements: 

  • Associate Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or other related field 
  • 10 years of shipboard HM&E experience 
  • Demonstrated proficiency with naval engineering tracking metrics, technical writing, and system validation procedures. 
  • Ability to execute physical shipboard surveys or technical documentation audits in accordance with assigned division protocols. 
  • Ability to read and interpret NSI’s, NSTM’s, drawings, and other technical documentation 
  • Ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders 
  • MS Office suite proficiency required 
  • Ability to attend Technical Authority Training within 3 months of hire 
  • Familiarity with Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual requirements 
  • Ability to use clear and concise oral and written communications
