Job: Accountant 

Location: Malton 

Salary: Up to £40,000 (dependant on experience)

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well established independent accountancy practice based in the Malton area. With a loyal and growing client base, the firm offers a varied role across accounts, tax and VAT, providing the opportunity to work closely with clients and play an important part in the continued success of the practice.

Due to continued growth and an increasing workload, the firm is looking to take someone on who can take ownership of a portfolio of clients, manage work from start to finish and become a trusted member of a close knit team.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant role include:

• Preparing year end accounts for a varied portfolio of clients
• Preparing VAT returns and assisting with tax compliance work
• Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact
• Taking ownership of jobs from initial records through to completion
• Providing practical advice and support to owner managed businesses
• Working closely with senior management to help deliver an excellent client service
• Supporting the continued growth of the practice through high quality client delivery

Requirements of the Senior Accountant role include:

• Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice is essential
• Strong experience preparing statutory accounts, VAT returns and tax work
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Organised, proactive and hands on approach
